By virtue of the fact that he actually is a starting quality center, certainly not a superstar, but capable, allowed the Jazz to play Gobert against second unit guys for a significant amount of time.
That was beneficial beyond the box score.
But the Jazz have to shed salary or they're going to get absolutely demolished with the luxury tax. Sure it's not my money, but I still hate to see money thrown away.
The Jazz need Mike Conley. They are a better team with him on the court. But they can't pay almost $70 million in luxury tax to keep him. They are simply going to have to reduce salary to make him worth the investment.
