Naw, BYU has done just fine because there's passion in the fanbase.
On down years the stadium still gets a lot of support and BYU fans travel incredibly well to opposing stadiums; again, even in down years.

But take teams like Washington who struggled to get 2/3 of the tickets sold to their home opener this year, and that was before they were certified trash. It only got worse from there with reports of 5000 people being in the stands on 30,000 tickets sold for the Arkansas State.

I honestly don't know if it's local cultures or not, but the PAC seems to be trending toward San Diego State type support with many of the teams—killer markets with plateauing or diminishing fan support.

I think USC will rebound, Oregon has a great culture and in my opinion Utah has the best fan culture in the PAC12.

Outside of those teams the conference is very boring compared to the other P5s.
