To follow up it's entirely possible BYU didn't have a spot for him BUT

He seems like a "take no matter what and make room for him" player, like they did with Kingsley Suamataia. BYU has 5 OL commits for the 2022 class and a few of them I believe are play first.

I have no inside knowledge or info on that, just guessing.
