Think about it. Eugene and Portland are SMALL markets. Nobody cares about Phil Knight money when they would be raking in $100s of millions per year. Oregon is trendy. It doesn't have a national fan base and never will. Also, it is lower tier in the PAC academically. Cal and Stanford may stink but they bring the bay area and northern Cali to the B1G as well as very prestigious AAU institutions. UW is the only other school in the ballpark academically with those two.
