I think energy costs are going up because of such poor utilization. Solar & wind
Don’t generate electricity when it’s dark/cloudy, wind is still or the mill is broken. Gas and coal are only needed when the other two aren’t working. Lots of capital sits idle instead of running 24/7.

If I were living in CA long-term I would probably get it just because of how unreliable their grid is and their A/C bills.
