A little of both. Oregon beat #5 Utah to block them from CFP. Utah beat #3 Oregon to return the favor. USC is 1 win away
but this will be Utah's 4th consecutive trip to the CCG.

You don't get to the playoffs in the west without having to beat Utah or Oregon.

There's a reason why a CFP bound, Heisman-led, star studded blue blood is only a 3 point favorite on a neutral field.

That said, USC is the vastly superior program. Everyone gets that. They look down on Utah, just as they do every other program in the west.

But it's not as dramatic as BYU Fans think.

They've known all preseason and all year Utah would be their toughest game.

It's more like how BYU and Utah saw TCU the last few years of the MW. Not a traditional rival, but one of the 1-2 best programs in the conference.

You respect them because they build up the conference and you need to beat them to get national cred. But they won't lay down for you.
