I don't see it (obviously some subjectivity here), but they fit pretty squarely in the earlier emo scene, especially the
one that inspired them. They are a speedier version of some of the lesser-known acts, like Mineral. I think where you can accuse them of pop is that their choruses are almost always melodic and in a major key, and song structure. But that's why I say "emo rock."
