More temperate than where? I probably would not enjoy living in those
places either.
I grew up in the mountains, not far from the oceans of California.
I love the desert southwest, with sunny days much of the year, and a beachfront in the summer. England doesn't have that. Lots of countries have sucky weather, including Germany, Denmark and other northern countries.
