NIL the way it is currently run is "decent", but the problem is the pairing of
NIL with the transfer portal. With the transfer portal, you have players (not even going to call them students anymore) being able to swap schools multiple times during their college careers, it becomes very different from what Student Athlete is actually supposed to be.

My Opinion:
NIL originally was thought to be a great way for kids who were actually struggling with making ends meet in college to make a little more money using their Name, Image Likeness. The issue then became schools started offering millions to kids to attract them to come to play for their teams; that is where the corruption of the idea came IMO. That paired with the idea that they can transfer if they don't like the situation, along with shady "agents" who get them these deals then take advantage of the kids is just bad juju.

Ultimately the Education piece is completely lost in the top 10% of the NIL earners, and then you just end up with a minor league football league.
