I don’t know what adventure travel is, but some of our favorite trips:
- Alps. Hiking, biking, and running in Italy, Switzerland, and France is as good as it gets. Amazing food. Great people. Alps will always be at the top of my list.

- Canadian Rockies. So good, and so much more convenient than the Alps. Take kayaks and paddle boards too because there are incredible lakes and rivers.

- Sedona. Trails are amazing, food is good, and there is some good people watching.

We’ve been lots of places, but those three above are always at the top of our list.

We’re usually on bikes or runs by about 7am; hike in the afternoon. Eat good food in between and after.

The last week of our last Alps trip included 29 hours of ride/run/hike (that’s moving time, not elapsed time—we’re out and about all day), in addition to walks around town, etc. Typical vacation weeks are more in the 15-25 hour range. Not sure if that’s what you mean by adventure travel, but we definitely see a lot, off the beaten path, etc. Museums and architecture and that kind of thing are fine, but they’re typically not what I’m looking for when I travel. I’d take a quiet trail to somewhere cool and eat well back in town every time.
