Utah does lead the series and since my life began Utah has more wins over BYU, has gone to two BCS bowl games, has gone undefeated twice, had a player drafted first in the NFL draft, has placed more players into the NFL, has beaten more teams ranked in the top 25, has been in the top 25 more times then BYU, has been ranked in every playoff top 25 since they started the poll, has a better record against P5 schools, and oh ya are in the Pac12 with a chance to go to the Rose Bowl if they win the next 3 games.

I would say Utah is above the rivalry at least until BYU can start beating Utah.
