Quantum mechanics allows for the possibility of living out the consequences of our actions. In one dimension we would turn left, in another dimension we would turn right, and we'd live out the consequences of those choices. In one dimension we get cancer as a kid and die, in another we live to be 99. In one dimension we marry Sally. In another we marry Debbie. With an infinite number of dimensions we would be come "like God" knowing good from evil, and having a greater data base of information from which to draw upon. Quantum Mechanics explains why The Saviors creations can be greater than the sands on the sea, and yet he was only crucified on this singular planet.

So... when you ask me do things "happen for a purpose" the answer is yes, everything that can happen will happen and when I move on to my next iteration as an eternal being, I'll have a wealth of information that will enable me to be omniscient, just like my Father, because I will have played out every possible circumstance of my existence on Earth.
