I agree, but I don't understand the complacency in recruiting
It seems our staff was content to go with the people we had in the fold. In reality, we should have been scouring the land for a couple running backs and wide outs.
We were assured that there was talent in the fold, waiting to burst on the scene.
But as far as scheme, yeah, you need play makers no matter what you run. We don't get many 50/50 balls, make people miss, knock the other team off the ball, deliver precision throws with consistency or break tackles.
And oh yeah, you forgot no speed in the backfield.
Pretty tough to scheme around that.
