defensive efficiency, respectively, against what has been a very strong SOS through four games. Not amazing numbers but when you throw in some opportune turnovers and good special teams play you get 3 wins out of 4.
I think it was pretty clear even in fall camp that Grimes’ offense was designed to achieve efficiency, not gaudy numbers. Certainly there were times (Cal) when even that didn’t happen. But I think Grimes values a strong run game and the ability to convert on third down and in the red zone over striving for ______ yards per game.
That said I’m sure he’d take both and we definitely need to keep improving our ability to push the ball downfield. I actually feel pretty good about our short and midrange game, but we are getting as much as we can out of the offense without “chunk” plays.
