And it’s important to show the skills you learn on a mission to catch up. I wager if I never went I’d have earned 150K more (earnings over2 Years plus differential in what current pay could have been). At least for me, I’d want to scope out the situation to see if it would help me gain a promotion faster, and I agree often times it will.
And I’d weigh that against quality of life changes, distance to family, etc. I’m also in my 20s. Just personally for me, I’d want it to be more than seeing something I can do on a weekend- and tbh I’m personally not much of a sight seer. When I saw the Eiffel Tower it was basically “there it is”. I’ve lived in DC on and off for 5 years and i haven’t done mostly of the touristy stuff. Same with SoCal where I spent most of my younger years.
But I fully understand that not everyone was like me. I can obviously can’t answer the question for OP. Only he and his wife can- there is too much unknown to give any real practical advice. I do think “no questions asked” is a bit hyperbolical. I can’t imagine not having questions to make the best decision for an individual situation.
