There is a reason there is such an uproar over this in the golf community.
At a minimum he should have given the guy 50k and probably should have been 100k. 10% tip is the standard for a win and 5% for a top 10 finish. He is getting bad press from tour players, caddies, and golf media as a whole. That says something.
