Don't think post I'm replying to mentioned anything about naturalization.
I can see the rational for those that renounced their previous citizenship, though I'd still disagree: sports allegiances aren't a civic duty or indicative of patriotism.

#16 is always #16. It’s the only exception to #1 or #2.

You have 6, 8, 9, 10 all way too low. And 5 is WAY too high. I'll forgive 7 but not 5.

Should be 1 > 2 > 3 > Europe (except France, Spain/Italy/Germany), > rest of the

No, Europe is like the SEC of world soccer, I cheer for all other continents

I don't want to get into it again but Germany plays attractive soccer generally.

If you live in the USA and are staying here permanently you shouldn't be

I disagree. I’ve lived in a number of foreign countries, but wouldn’t cheer for

Makes no difference, your home country will always be your home country.

Disagree. If heaven forbid I had to move to Mexico for the rest of my life, I would ALWAYS cheer for the USA.

I'm not saying if you had to, I am saying if you chose to

If I choose to move to Belgium to support my family, i'm still going to cheer for the US.

Would you expect US expats to renounce any American things just because they

Depends. Did they become citizens and renounce their US citizenship?

I didn't necessarily point out naturalization but it is definitely one aspect...

Nope. You should almost never trade out your original rooting interest.

Lame argument. Citizenship has little if anything to do with rooting interest.
