When he and I hike together I bring a tent because the weight exchange doesn’t make sense for me.
I would perhaps want the stuff guys are talking about—the pad, the net, the extra bag. I might as well just bring my ultralight tent.
My son brings a temp-appropriate mummy bag, the hammock, and maybe a poncho.

Depends upon where you go. If it's someplace cold at night (even with warm daytime temps), something underneath

He’s camped in several western states with it, including Utah last year. I think it’s the difference
