basically. The idea being that if you put a pad inside the hammock it won’t insulate very well. So you put an insulation layer on the outside of the hammock and then your sleeping bag on the inside.

Who here hammock camps? I have an eno hammock, but do I need a “quilt” too?

Depends upon where you go. If it's someplace cold at night (even with warm daytime temps), something underneath

No, it's not propaganda. It depends on where you go, like I said. His son does't know high elevation camping.

He’s camped in several western states with it, including Utah last year. I think it’s the difference

I hammock camp a lot and live on Utah. You need insulation here all year long
