She was looking into a store when she felt something lift out of her coat pocket. She turned to see a lady and a man carrying a baby quickly walking directly away from her. The lady had a phone in her hand and my wife started running and saying “that’s my phone, that’s my phone!”
I guess the lady panicked because she kinda started running (leaving man with baby behind) but my wife had a head start and caught up in just a few strides.
The lady turned around holding the phone up and said “is this your phone? My mistake, my mistake, I didn’t know” and she gave up the phone.

I was with the kids at a pizza place around the corner.
I was both super proud of her and bummed that I missed the action.

If I ever go to Paris again, I’m bringing an expensive looking coat and putting mousetraps in all the pockets!
