At a restaurant in Normandy last week an older guy came over to me noticing my
son in BYU gear. He was on his way out and we had just sat down. He leans over to me and said that a while back he was at Times Square dressed in Utah gear and while surrounded by thousands of people he heard a still small voice say, Go Cougars. He kind of half smiled and left. Ute fans are weird, but Normandy was incredible! Our tour guide said she had never seen so many people in her life than during the 75th anniversary of D Day a couple weeks ago. Many wonderful patriots still remember that awesome sacrifice! We got stuck on what was supposed to be a 12 hour flight on the way home for 22 hours due to some melted plastic in the food area that smelled. We couldn't get off the plane and it got really old and cramped and the airline handled it poorly, but I saw and watched a WW! documentary during that time and watched some Band of Brothers movies. It puts everything in perspective and I couldn't complain about my 1st world problems.

Oh, I got my wallet and phone stolen on the Paris metro at the beginning of my trip too... out of my front pocket when the train stopped and I took my hand off of them to brace myself. Watched the guy run off with it through a crowd and could do nothing. Being completely unplugged for a couple weeks was inconvenient but ended up being just what I needed.
