You still have to come back and get into shape.

I can't think of one offensive lineman who came back just flat out ready to go right away. There's no advantage. Most still come back undersized, and now instead of being undersized but coming right from another FB program, they're coming from 2 years off and probably eating crappy and not doing a ton of working out. Especially the linemen.
