I have a client that wasn't reporting the income and got a 1099 and didn't do anything (when he was doing his taxes himself). When he got the IRS letter for the previous year he came to me and we got it straightened out and reported correctly.

The threshold for reporting is basically $1 in income, and I realize that is not realistic but it sounds like you should be reporting the income and your expenses.
