Steve Young was 30 when he became the starter for the 49ers. Most likely a team with a high 1st round pick wouldn't go
after Taysom.... but if you had the 25th pick in the 1st round??? Maybe???
Most likely Taysom stays in NO... but the question is... if you're Taysom, do you sign a multi year deal with NO? Or do you want to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. If he has a good year then he'd get more than $40m in his next contract I'd bet.
If he gets hurt... then perhaps nothing.
Perhaps some insurance company would write a good policy for him if he decides the unrestricted free agent route?
