I've seen some great home-schooled kids and some weird, anti-social,
home-schooled kids. It really depends on the parent, or group of parents, who run the home school. Our previous Bishop's kids are all home-schooled. His wife is a trained elementary teacher and taught for a few years before they started having children. She has done a great job with their kids. Vacations are all educational based and no need to discuss snow days. They just go when they want to. Grading is easy. 4.0s for everyone. It would be easy to focus on the ACT/SAT from 12-18 as their curriculum. Imagine that application. 4.0 and 35 on the ACT. Scholly time at the Y.

By the way, the best teacher I ever hired was home-schooled AND graduated from BYU. So, it can be done but it needs to be done the right way.
