If it is clear that it was from the Postal Service and the inner bags were clearly marked where the money came from and
where it was to be deposited then clearly, turn it in to the authorities.
It should be simple to find the rightful owners of the money in such a case.

I can't think of any legal reason someone would have that much cash. I'd turn it

Where is their office to turn it in? I don't think the cartel will enjoy having

The only problem with that strategy is that someone will know you have 200k

It would be safe to assume the bills were from a bank and were marked

Can't you leave it with the police with a caveat to have it returned

Yes - but it's unclear whether you will ever get it back

It's pretty clear. You are never getting it back.

Keep it, but try to find owner. That seems to be the legal requirement as well:

Biggest plot hole in movie history. First thing you do is count the money...

the best solutions are 1) turn it in or 2) keep it as long as no one else knows

If I was 60-70+ I would risk keeping/hiding it.. younger than that I would call

Depends on the amount. $1M probably turn it in. $100k I'd probably keep it.
