the best solutions are 1) turn it in or 2) keep it as long as no one else knows
If you found the money with your kids, you are screwed. You have to turn it in. If you found the money by yourself and there were no witnesses, cameras, etc... well, you could get away with keeping it as long as you don't go on a big cash spending spree.
