Look, I get it you have a personal connection to him. And yes, he is a good guy and represents the university and church well. But even if at a place like BYU those things are 50% of your job and 50% is coaching football, then he's not fulfilling the other half of his responsibilities in a competent manner. A coach's bottom line is wins and losses. Period. If he can't start winning with consistency, then it's past time to find someone else who can. Sure BYU might have to go an unconventional route and find a younger guy without HC experience (or HC experience at the major college level), but I'm sure there are guys out there that can do better than he can from a football standpoint.
