Agreed, very well done. Of course I'm biased as I've been lecturing on the Cold War for 15 years, especially Reagan &
the 1980s period, so as soon as I heard FX was doing a show about Russian spies during the Cold War in the 1980s, I was already pretty hooked on the show before the first episode even premiered. It's definitely a slow burn, it often felt like it took several episodes to accomplish major plot advances, but it seems a lot of series nowadays follow that method. It pushed the sexual boundaries a little too much for my comfort, so I often fast forwarded scenes I felt were going to go that route. But overall I stuck with it to the end and very much enjoyed the 1980s setting and the occasional reference of the political dynamics and how they impacted the show, especially the "Evil Empire" episode after Reagan gave his famous speech and how that affected them as Russians committed to the Soviet system Reagan just called the "focus of evil in the modern world."
