... compliment. She watched it with me through the first season but then bailed because she told me it made her too angry. She grew up in a communist country and is ardently anti-communist as a result, so she couldn't stand not only watching the communists "win" and escape trouble but feeling emotionally connected to them. They were the bad guys.

I liked it overall even though I felt it went over the top at times (with the last episode having pretty good dramatic beats but pushing suspension of disbelief way too far beyond breaking for me), and despite seeing the commies get out of jams. I took solace in the fact that (historically) they lost, haha.
