Loon to the Moon All-American
Where did that Nighthawk story come from? I attended Northridge its first three
years of existence. We voted on the mascot, and I don't remember a hawk hitting a window. I submitted Norsemen (back before we considered sexist language), but it didn't make the final ballot. I don't remember the other ones that did, but alliteration was the rage in those days (Bonneville Broncos, Windsor Wildcats).

The dumb thing is that a nighthawk isn't even a hawk. It is in the family of birds known as goatsuckers. They eat bugs out of the air, not fierce at all.
