There was no alternate. Biles preemptively used up all of the team’s allotted
mulligans when she dropped out.
It could have been that she would have performed so crappy as to have had the lowest scores, anyway, but by dropping out she guaranteed it and effectively put more pressure on her teammates to be perfect.
