Utah is still 30% or more cheaper in housing than California. That said, Utah had a YoY increase in wages

Not close. Last year I looked into a job at a newly listed public tech company in Utah - would be a 65%+ pay cut.

TNT was talking to someone in health care who said their salary was half in Utah what it was in California

I always hear this on here but then they say they are getting offers from New York or California
CSoul

I've gotten remote offers from companies in Cali, Washington, TX and MN
RockyBalboa

So other than Minnesota the areas I mentioned? Remote first work has definitely changed the game.

That's just not true. Would like to see where you are even getting that from.

You are looking at average personal income. I am looking at median household.
rad dawg

Again, show me where you are seeing that data. Before 2020 Utah was increasing, it decreased in 2020
CSoul
10/15/21 8:49am
A lot if it is estimates right now admittedly for 2021
rad dawg
10/15/21 8:57am
You said it was decreasing and then linked a current state median income. Those aren't the same.
CSoul
10/15/21 9:13am
I dont disagree that it was rising until 2020.

The OP was talking about compensation, so the entire premise was on salaries. "Has compensation improved"

Businesses have shifted from the norm of granting an average of 3% cost of living increases to now around 1.5%.

I think the hope is that home prices get crushed at some point. Wage inflation
