I mean, what Utah did in destroying Oregon twice is impressive. But I don’t think the CFP committee can prop up Oregon as a great team anymore. They’ve looked mediocre in several games this year. As awesome as their week 1 win over Ohio State was, their two losses to Utah and their loss to freaking Stanford are equally as damning. How Oregon got to a #3 ranking was quite baffling at the time, not just in retrospect. It was almost like the Committee was propping them up because they were desperate to have the PAC 12 in the mix after the last few years of them being shut out.

If Oregon were a top 15 or 20 team, they wouldn’t have gotten destroyed by Utah twice. Utah is good, but they’re not a powerhouse.
