I think they will and I’m torn on whether they should
Conference championships and winning extra games against top 10 teams should matter
When a team improves and they get better and make significant personnel changes through the year that resulted in those improvements, it should matter.
Common opponent results should matter
But ultimately, the ranking is a cumulative ranking based on the year’s results and BYU didn’t do anything to lose ground and they beat Utah.
Honestly, I think they are both really good teams and would/should be ranked really close to one another by just about any standard.
