This feels correct. I'm confused as to why the premise of the OP was theorizing
on who USC would choose to take with them. Can there really be any doubt that, to the extent the B1G is going to invite further members, those members are going to be who the B1G believes benefits their conference, not what USC wants? It also seems clear that UW and Oregon are far and away more valuable than Stanford and Cal. While I guess that could have been something that was negotiated before USC agreed to go, I just don't see how USC could have had that kind of leverage.
