on this season suggest to me that he's landed himself two future "greats" in Hall & Saunders. (Incidentally, these are his first scholarship RMs to finally suit up for him--after 3.5 years at the helm!) Such is life for the green HC at BYU!

As for Fouss — he may have some work to do yet before we can make bold predictions on what he'll amount to, but I think based on his body of work till this young point in his Soph season — that we can't exclude "great player" as a real possibility for him by the time all's said & done.

And I wouldn't rest on Jax Robinson, either. It's certainly in his raw makeup to amount to a "great" by the time his clock expires three seasons from now. In terms of ranginess, athleticism & skillset he reminds me a lot of Lee Cummard. I'm very excited about what he might eventually amount to for us. Pope is clearly trying to find the dawg in this rather mellow soul (which was Lee too). And so far, I think I'm liking what I see of the inner fire that seems to be brewing in him, particularly on defense.

I'd also be amiss if I didn't at least mention Gideon George. Who I've been hard on so far this season. But if there were a "great player" on the court for us against Dayton the other night it had to have been him. He was a relentless competitor that was so much more than just an athlete for us that night. And against a very tough opponent. The projected champion of the Atlantic 10 is ALWAYS a quality opponent. In fact, the top 3 of the Atlantic 10 are ALWAYS quality teams.

If THAT Gideon continues to show up for us this season I can assure you we'll still be talking about him ten years from now.

And, yes, last but not least...we can't rightly ignore Mr. Chandler. A higher-rated recruit than all three of our Lone Peak boys I do believe. And unlike the LP trio, a kid that Pope had to wrench away from the yewts in order to bring his game to Provo.
