don't really understand CFB in a P4/5. Unless is there is a huge disparity in talent in a P5, no one is going to run the table.
Undefeated seasons don't happen. Utah is not an elite CFB team...but hardly anyone outside P2 is...and even then, only a handful of P2 programs.
That expectation is awkward.
But I'm curious... who are these juggernaut, elite Big 12 programs that are going to dominate Utah the way Utah has dominated their own south division?
Do these programs have a QB that's won 2 CCGs? Are they markedly out-recruiting Utah the same way blue blood programs are?
Perhaps BYU fans compare Utah too much to programs like Ohio State and Alabama, and lose sight of Utah's peer group.
Utah will play ASU, CU, AZ and BYU every year. Utes have averaged a 3-1 to 4-1 record vs that group for several years now. I don't see any major, rational change disrupting that.
