Yes, it's cool to read the history between them, both bands felt a rivalry,
but at the same time a deep respect for each other. Paul McCartney was blown away by the innovation and complexity of Pet Sounds when it came out, and has subsequently given a copy to all of his children for their "education in life". Says it's the only album that can bring him to tears.
