The word from Austin about ND/ACC & how it relates to BYU
Just to give you guys the Texas perspective on things:
1. Texas had been convinced up until recently that ND was coming as a partial to the Big 12.
2. The look-in for the ACC's TV deal will be activated & the $ will go up because of these 5 yearly games.
3. FSU, Clemson, Miami, Ga Tech, all Acc teams - now off the table as Big12 candidates.
4. Big 12 wants to be at 12 before the cfb playoffs start (no matter what you hear)
5. Louisville & BYU are sitting pretty right now. A Big12 invite is yours to lose.....
In the essence of full discretion, I was one of the more vocal people saying that Louisville & BYU to the Big 12 would not happen. That is what I was told for the longest time by a very well connected person in Austin. Now that Bowlsby didn't secure ND as a partial, the ACC is locked up. This is a great day for BYU.....unless you don't want to play football in the Big 12.
