I'd say his three movies were by far stronger than Burton's two (or three if you include that he produced Batman Forever.) However, I still think that Batman 1989 is the better than any single Nolan film. I also realize that Burton is very complimentary about Nolan's trilogy, and the compliments are rightly deserved. I'd also add that Batman Begins is still, imo, by far the best of Nolan's, and right up there in terms of quality with Burton's original Batman film. However, TDK and DKR simply fall under their own weight despite many quality performances by villains. They do not live up to the standard nor the visual rules that Nolan established in BB, which is too bad.
Again, this is just MY opinion, but as I'm notorious for having this particular opinion, I thought I'd just throw all that in there.
