It was a lot of fun and it was a really rewarding experience.
I did it with a combination of family and friends. Since it was the trail series we weren't just riding around in a van for 24 hours. We had a good time hanging out. It had been a long time since I'd gotten to hang out with my brother without having to watch either of our kids (We'd gotten babysitters for them).
It's hard to totally describe why I physically like Ragnar since it's a combination of elements. I liked the physical challenge of the event. I like running long distances (Even longer than Ragnar). Running is one of the few times where I have uninterrupted quite time. It's nice that it helps keep me moving and in shape. Most days I am just sitting at a desk. Finally, it's just a great feeling when you're done with your last leg, washed all the mud off in the shower, and go get good food with the other people you've been running with. I'd be surprised if anyone got to that point and could actually say they were sorry they did it.
