Glad to hear the Costco bulbs look good. I saw them last week and almost picked
some up but wanted to research a bit. I have 6 in my kitchen, 6 in the family room, and 12 in the basement. I'll have to pick some up next time I'm there.

Hopefully buying at Costco helps. They should take them back if they fail early.

The Christmas lights still aren't affordable given the amount of use.

The thing I like about LED strings is that you can string together like 100 of

This sounds crazy. Who spends $800 a year on lightbulbs? $66/mo?

Here is the math for a single 60W bulb at 1 hour per day for a year
workindev

So LEDs cost about about $4.00 for 10hr/day/year ... if I did the math right?

Yup - a 13W bulb @ 10 hours per day would be $4.75/year (at $.10 per KWH)

I've had CFLs go out on me, but I have more confidence in LEDs.

There was a 100W equivelent floodlight at Costco
