Drove by the mission home last night and saw 5 cars lined up in the parking lot for sale. 2010/2011 Chevy Malibus. I'm looking for a reliable car for a new female driver in the family, and these looked pretty good.
I have no idea about mileage, it was late and that info was not on the window. Looking at the 2011 and assuming that it's a high miler at 60,000, it KBB books at $11,300. They're asking $10,900, and I assume there is some room there to negotiate.
Now, having been a missionary and having had a car for a large portion of my mission, I would NEVER buy the cars we drove. However, that was 30 years ago in a foreign country with nothing like the fleet maintenance and usage rules in place in the missions today. My sense is that they will be very clean interiors, fleet maintained on schedule but maybe just high mileage. Since my daughter will be using the car primarily to go to and from school about 5 miles a day, in a couple of years the age and mileage should even out.
Any experiences with mission cars or Chevy Malibus? All the reviews I read are very positive.
