So they don't use RMP's grid because they are generating their own power - so they need to be taxed to pay for what they don't use. Or, they sell their power to RMP, who then sells it on. So... they need to be taxed for selling us power that we then turn around and sell at a profit.
They are going to raise $150,000 off it, and claim that non-solar customers are subsidizing solar customers. What they are implying then is that it costs $150,000 to subsidize all of the state's solar customers. Well, fine by me. That is the best subsidization deal ever. How much do/did we subsidize GM, GE, big ag, the banks, etc... There are at least 150,000 households in Utah, so that means I am paying $1 to help investment in solar power across the state. Sign me up for that.
