Norm stood up and conspicuously left in the middle of a talk by...(forgot which VP) when a reference to Chinese rail workers was made in jest (poor form, but it was the final straw for Norm in a long list of perceived slights).
Many coaches leave programs on sour notes (as you mentioned in a previous thread), but most of those are over philosophical differences over FB issues. Norm's departure felt much more personal and far less than about mere football. I won't go into the details, but prefer to let them fade away. Let's agree that Norm left on very unpleasant terms, and that he (still) has a problem with certain people at BYU (in executive positions).
