I've become pretty disillusioned with college football over the last decade. Between reading Death to the BCS and watching the documentary $chooled, I've lost all my respect for the NCAA and college football administrators in general. I've also lost respect for the NFL who continues to uphold the corrupt system because it means they get free development.
I think European soccer has it figured out. Kids don't play for their school. If they are really good, they get invited to special academies that are funded by the soccer clubs. These clubs invest their own money in the talent of their future, rather than getting it for free like the NFL. The really good players then make the junior teams for the clubs, like the U18 or U19 teams. This is how it should be done. It's fair for everyone.
