The experience was much better than that of women who choose to not use an epidural. My wife couldn't feel any pain at all. Labor lasted about 9 hours, but it was 9 hours of us just watching movies and taking naps. Once she was dilated to a 10, she pushed for literally 10 minutes before they needed the doctor to come in for the final couple pushes. Quick and painless delivery. I'd gladly do it again...but not for a couple years
