Sorry but in realtime it all looked like his hand slid from front of the jersey over and off of his helmet.

He may have attempted to get a hold of the helmet but it's clear from the video and photographic evidence, that he failed to get a hold of the helmet and slid off.

Like Koroma's punch, he tried but failed.

I'm not a ref but my assumption is they saw the hand slide from the front of the jersey up to his neck and up over his helmet and they didn't see the finger curl or didn't see a grip that actually pulled the helmet off of taysom's head.
