to hear this from the horses mouth. My friend is a stake President and would have no reason to be dishonest or untruthful.
If you want a quote, I cannot provide one. It was said out of the media's ear range in an administrative setting. However, at the time it was spoken there were posts on several boards discussing it.
As a note referencing Hill's relationship with BYU and Tom:
I do know that Tom and Hill have a very good working relationship or so they portray in public. Tom often speaks in Cougar Club about how it was always Hill and himself voting against all of the other schools in the mwc. Tom also mentions how Hill was Tom's mentor when first coming to BYU.
Prior to a Utah vs. BYU game in LES, I was asked to offer the opening prayer during the pre-game meeting in the Cougar Room. Hill was present. After my offering the prayer, Hill stood up as is the custom for opposing administrations to address the Cougar Club. He quickly referenced my prayer. He mentioned how intently he listened to the prayer for words consisting of: being victorious, winning, or beating Utah. But none where spoken, therefore, he concluded Utah would win. This appeared to be more friendly bantering than anything else. Although, personally I don't listen to prayers for specific thoughts or outcomes unless it's within a Priesthood Blessing involving healing of the afflicted.
Go Cougars!!!!!!!!!!!!
